Radisson Hotel Group continues to enhance its UK presence with high-profile projects linked to major sports and entertainment destinations, as well as opening the group’s first Verified Net Zero hotel in Manchester. These developments reflect Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to combining premium hospitality with memorable experiences, sustainability leadership, and community engagement.
The Medlock Hotel: a new Radisson Blu landmark at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus
In collaboration with Manchester City Football Club, Radisson Hotel Group will launch The Medlock, a 401-room hotel that will join the Radisson Blu family located at the club’s new entertainment destination. Scheduled to open in 2026, The Medlock will provide premium accommodation for music and sport fans attending events at the Etihad Stadium, visitors to the UK’s largest indoor arena, Co-op Live, as well as guests exploring the wider entertainment destination and Manchester itself.
The Medlock will offer guests a choice of suites, deluxe and standard rooms, in addition to a luxury penthouse suite. Guests will also have access to a wide variety of food and drink outlets, a museum experience and commercial office space in the expanded stadium area.
In addition to its attractive design and lifestyle focused proposition, the hotel will have access to meeting and events space available at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester continues to be one of the UK’s most desirable and fastest growing cities for both tourists and businesses.
Radisson RED Twickenham: a stylish stay at the Home of England Rugby
Following an impressive and extensive refurbishment, the newly-opened Radisson RED London Twickenham is the first Radisson RED property to open at a sports stadium and presents a dynamic atmosphere and comfort-led interior.
The hotel is nestled on the south side of the iconic Allianz Stadium, which is also home to the World Rugby Museum, an impressive conference & events centre and a state-of-the-art health and fitness club.
The 150 guest rooms reflect the hotel’s signature aesthetic, where bold design meets functionality and follows a rugby theme. With a playful yet sophisticated approach, rooms feature vibrant colour palettes, chic furnishings, and striking artwork.
The hotel is also home to The Huddle Restaurant, a buzzing all-day social hub, and The Loft, which will host live music, entertainment, TED-style talks and lifestyle events inspired by the creative spirit at the heart of Twickenham, a leafy suburb of London nestled on the Thames River.
Radisson RED Birmingham Edgbaston Stadium: Cricket and contemporary design
Earmarked for a 2027 opening in time for The Ashes series, Radisson RED Birmingham Edgbaston Stadium will be built into one of the UK’s leading cricket grounds. The bold hotel will feature 146 guest rooms, each reflecting Radisson RED’s vibrant signature style and design, which incorporates art, music, and fashion, to offer an unforgettable stay to all guests.
More than half of the hotel’s guest rooms will overlook the cricket ground. Several of the rooms have balconies and are convertible rooms that can also be used as hospitality boxes during matches and as additional meeting spaces for events. On the hotel’s rooftop will be a bar and restaurant, where guests and local residents can enjoy an outside terrace offering panoramic views of the cricket ground and the Birmingham skyline.
Radisson at Oxford United Football Club: Sustainability meets hospitality at the UK’s first all-electric stadium
Earlier this year, Radisson Hotel Group announced a Radisson-branded 180-room hotel will open at the new home of Oxford United Football Club, within the UK’s first all-electric stadium.
The club’s planning application for the new stadium was recently approved by the district council.
As part of the Club’s pledge to deliver a state-of-the-art stadium, it will use a low-carbon energy supply to create the all-electric stadium, with power also generated by solar panels, making it the most sustainable mid-sized stadium to be built in the UK.
The site will include a 16,000-capacity stadium, a 1,000-delegate conference and exhibition centre and the Radisson hotel, as well as bars, restaurants and fitness and entertainment facilities.
Radisson Hotel Group is an industry pioneer in sustainability and committed to Net Zero. In 1989, it was part of the first hotel group in the world to adopt an environmental policy.
In May this year, the group opened its first Verified Net Zero property globally with Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, introducing the Radisson brand to the heart of Manchester for the first time. Located just steps away from the AO Arena and Manchester Victoria Station, this 252-room hotel offers guests a stylish and sustainable stay in a prime location.
As Radisson Hotel Group’s first Verified Net Zero property, it meets the 2040 requirements of the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels today, setting a new standard for sustainable hospitality.
The opportunity to stay at a Verified Net Zero property allows guests to become part of a forward-thinking movement that combines comfort and innovation with sustainability, offering three key features: 100% renewable energy, low-carbon menus, and being a minimal waste hotel. Through Verified Net Zero hotels, Radisson Hotel Group demonstrates its commitment to Net Zero 2050, and to showcasing the future of sustainable stays.
Whether its relaxing while overlooking the grounds of world-renowned sports stadiums or knowing their stay has a net-zero carbon footprint, guests of Radisson Hotels can expect innovation, comfort, and a commitment to a more sustainable future.
