Private investment company Wirefox transforms former Ducks Inn into luxury hotel

Wirefox is set to open a new luxury hotel in East Lothian, Scotland.

The Northern Irish private investment company acquired the hotel, formerly Ducks Inn in September last year - adding it to a portfolio which includes St Andrews golfing hotel The Ardgowan and The Bushmills Inn in Northern Ireland – and then commenced an extensive refurbishment programme

The new hotel named The Leddie will comprise 27 luxury rooms, a 70-cover restaurant, a lounge as well as front and rear terraces. It’s new look was developed by Wirefox’s in-house design team in collaboration with Studio Terry, incorporating inspirations from the local surroundings and Scotland itself.

The Leddie is scheduled to open this summer.

Why it matters

Through this investment, Wirefox joins the likes of Bourne Leisure who remain positive on the Scottish hotel sector. This further indicates positive sentiment in relation to the region and is yet another indicator of confidence in the Scottish luxury hotel market following Henderson Park’s £85 million acquisition of Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian last year.
