Hilton to open 85-room Curio hotel in Crete

Hilton has signed a franchise agreement with Tsiledakis to open 85-room Imperial Flair Chania Old Town under its brand Curio Collection by Hilton.

Located on the beachfront at Akti Kanari, Nea Chora and set to open in 2026, the new hotel will comprise 85 rooms – with each guest room to feature a private pool -, two dining outlets, a spa, fitness facilities, two shopping outlets as well as meeting and events space.

The owners have confirmed that the investment amount for the new hotel is expected to reach €25 million.

Imperial Flair Chania Old Town will join two other Curio Collection by Hilton hotels in Crete; Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes and Domes Aulus Elounda.

Why it matters

The Municipality of Chania recently approved a study for the redevelopment of the coastal front on the western seafront of Chania. At a time where new beachfront hotel development opportunities are scarce, Hilton has been able to secure such an opportunity in Crete, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

What they said

Andreas Koukas, director, development, Greece & Cyprus at Hilton said: “We’re excited to continue our impressive growth momentum in Greece with this latest signing announcement. In partnership with owners such as Tsiledakis, we’re going from strength to strength and look forward to expanding the presence of our world-class brands in Greece in the years to come.”

Labros Tsiledakis, chief operating officer at Tsiledakis added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Hilton to deliver what will undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to the Cretan hotel market. We’re looking forward to our future relationship with Hilton in the Greek market, capitalising on Hilton’s strong commercial engines and our local knowledge to deliver a high-quality hospitality product in the heart of Chania.”
