Catalonia Hotels & Resorts buys Hesperia del Mar hotel for €27.7m

Catalonia Hotels & Resorts has purchased the Hesperia del Mar hotel in Barcelona from Meridia Capital for €27.7 million.

Located at 6 Carrer D'espronceda in Barcelona’s seafront, the Hesperia del Mar hotel comprises 84 rooms including six suites, meeting space, a restaurant, bar and gym. It was built in 2002 and in 2020 was purchased by Barcelona-headquartered Meridia.

Cushman & Wakefield advised Catalonia on the transaction, which takes the company’s portfolio in Barcelona to 29 hotels and its total holdings in Spain to 61 hotels. The company also owns four properties in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels and Porto as well as 12 properties across the Caribbean.
