B&B Hotels inks deal with Arora Group for first UK hotel

B&B Hotels has agreed a long-term lease with Arora Group for Arora Park Hotel in Slough.

Located five miles from Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, the hotel was originally built for British Airways crew before being converted to a hotel for the general public.

B&B’s partnership with hotel owner-operator Arora is in line with the European budget hotel chain’s plan to 100 hotels in the UK by 2035, a continuation of an expansion strategy adopted following its acquisition by Goldman Sachs in 2019.

In June 2021, B&B Hotels teamed with Atream Hôtels, the hotel real estate REIT (SCPI) from French asset management firm Atream for its entry into the Dutch hotel market. In the past week, it announced its first hotel in the US, a 218-room hotel on the site of the former Floridian Express International Drive hotel near Universal Studios in Orlando.

What they said

Fabrice Collet, president & chief executive of B&B Hotels said: “Our successful growth model and commitment to value for our guests have made us a beloved brand across Europe, and we’re excited to bring that same experience to guests in the UK. We are accelerating our development in all the countries we are already in while continuing to establish ourselves in new markets.”

Patrick O’Connell, chief executive of B&B Hotels UK added: “Looking ahead, the B&B Hotels UK team remains committed to forging partnerships with existing hotel owners, developers, landowners, funds, and real estate owners to realise its expansion plans.”

Sanjay Arora, chief operating officer & head of property at Arora Group said: “The building, facilities and its proximity to Heathrow airport, lends itself as an ideal economy hotel and we are confident that B&B Hotels will do a fantastic job in repositioning the property as one of the best value for money accommodation offerings in Heathrow.”
