Omnam Group and Mohari Hospitality team up to expand luxury footprint

Omnam Group and Mohari Hospitality have formed a strategic partnership focused on increasing the scale and scope of their developments in lifestyle and luxury hospitality, food and beverage outlets and leisure offerings throughout Europe.

Omnam is a global real estate group focused on the luxury hospitality space. It was founded in 2011 and already has a portfolio of hotels that includes W Rome (operating), Four Seasons Puglia, Baccarat Hotel Florence, the Britannia Hotel in Lake Como and the Kimpton POST in Rotterdam (in development), Peninsula Papagayo, 1 Hotel Toronto, Centro Canalejas Madrid, Riviera Dining Group and the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection

In its relationship, Mohari will provide capital to Omnam as it creates and invests in new projects. Mohari, which invests in long-term projects within the luxury hospitality sector, primarily in prime urban and resort markets, was founded by Mark Scheinberg, who was co-founder and CEO of PokerStars, the online poker business, which was sold to Amaya Gaming in 2014. Its managing partner is J. Allen Smith, who from 2013 to 2018 was president and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

“We are proud to have joined forces with Mohari Hospitality,” said David Zisser, CEO and founder of Omnam. “Omnam will continue to create dynamic experiences that celebrate their destinations, whilst remaining committed to conserving and honoring our environment. In a culture detoxing from the Instagramification of every moment — we’re creating space for the delight in between the big moments.

“The combination of Mohari’s capital capabilities and leadership team will allow us to grow as we always have – with full attention to detail and our eyes turned to the future of the industry."

“We are excited to partner with David and the Omnam team, who have demonstrated a unique ability to identify and develop exceptional properties in some of the most sought after markets in Europe," said J. Allen Smith. "The combined capabilities of our two firms creates a platform with tremendous growth potential.”

The announced partnership follows Omnam’s joint venture announcement with Bain Capital in October 2021 to develop the former Hotel Britannia Excelsior in Lake Como.

“Today’s announcement is a natural extension of our existing capital collaborations, which have laid the foundation for our cohesive and thoughtful developments to date," Zisser said. "We remain committed to our long-standing capital partners, who have trusted our ability to deliver exceptional projects and financial returns, and with whom we look forward to continuing our journey.”
