EasyHotel adds to international team to boost expansion plans

EasyHotel has added to its international team with five new hires across three business areas as it looks to reach 100 hotels by 2026.

Areas of focus for the group include increasing its owned, franchised and leased hotel portfolio, delivering on its low-carbon strategy and enhancing the international awareness of the brand.

So far this year, the Group has opened its first hotel in Dublin, Ireland, with further openings in Paris and Zurich scheduled for the spring.

  • Jacques Bonafé has joined as head of construction Europe. Bonafé previously worked as head of construction and property director at companies including Ikea, ADP and Steinhoff, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the role. Within his new position at EasyHotel, Jacques will be a main driver for the group to deliver on its decarbonisation strategy, including the implementation of a new low-carbon room.
  • Thomas Robet has joined as head of development France and Belgium. Robet has 10 years of experience in development, most recently working at Radisson in France after a career in consulting and investment advisory roles at CBRE and JLL. Robet’s role at EasyHotel is to help grow and manage the portfolio.

EasyHotel also hired Guilain Madelpuech as development analyst, Marylène Chevallier as IT project manager and Daniel Thompson as marketing director.

What they said

Karim Malak, CEO of EasyHotel, said: “2022 saw easyHotel outperform the market, with like for like RevPar up 37% compared to FY2019, and I’m thrilled to be welcoming five new colleagues to continue this momentum in 2023. The new team members will significantly enhance our international capabilities as we seek to increase our presence across key European countries and deliver our aim to have 100 hotels open by 2026.

“Last year the business saw strong financial results, introduced new hotels to the portfolio, as well as a support office in Paris, and launched a new design of our low-carbon rooms, in partnership with Saguez & Partners. 2023 is set to be an even bigger year as we expand further across Europe and implement low-carbon investment throughout the network. We are committed to providing guests with a super price, super sustainable and a super easy stay, whether that be for leisure or business travellers.”
