Italian hotel company Starhotels appoints new managing director

Italian hotel company Starhotels has appointed Francesco Brunetti as managing director of the group. Brunetti will work alongside President and CEO Elisabetta Fabri in leading the company.

Prior to joining Starhotels, Brunetti held a range of senior management positions in the most important international hotel chains including Hilton, ITT Sheraton, CIGA and Starwood, overseeing the merger of the latter with Marriott International.

Among the many institutional positions held, Brunetti is a member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Fiera Milano and of the General Council of Federturismo Confindustria; he is Deputy of the Italian Chapter of E.H.M.A. (European Hotel Managers Association), as well as past president of the Assolombarda Tourism Group and Confindustria Lombardia Turismo.

“Francesco Brunetti shares with me not only a strong passion for hospitality but a strategic and operational vision focused on efficiency, quickness and effectiveness, which are necessary to be increasingly competitive in this market,” Fabri said. “I am delighted to welcome him to Starhotels, and confident that his arrival will bring dynamism and great professionalism, as well as a boost in the existing plans for business growth and portfolio development.”

“I am thrilled to be part of the most important Italian hotel group, a family business with an international footprint that boasts a diversified portfolio of hotels of absolute prestige,” Brunetti said. “It is a rare example of an inter-generational and authentically Italian success story, with high growth potential.”

Starhotels has 30 properties across Italy as well as in London, Paris and New York, with a portfolio of more than 4,200 rooms.
