Wyndham and Zeus expand strategic partnership in Europe

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Zeus International have expanded their strategic collaboration with a new non-exclusive agreement to develop multi hospitality asset developments under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham and Registry Collection Hotels brands.

The partnership between the two companies began in 2017, and this recent expansion will focus on growing the Trademark Collection by Wyndham upper-midscale portfolio while also positioning the Registry Collection Hotels’ brand in Europe.

As part of the agreement, Wyndham and Zeus recently opened three boutique hotels under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham brand in Greece and Romania; the 74-room Lazart Hotel in Thessaloniki, the 62-room Central Hotel in Bucharest and the 76-room Athens Key Hotel in Athens.

Why it matters

The increased investment in and expansion into more countries in Southeast Europe reflects growing opportunities and interest for hotel investment in these regions, post-Covid. Analysis from travel intelligence provider Mabrian found hotel rates have continued to go up for almost all destinations in the region, with Bulgaria and Croatia seeing the highest price increases from 2022. According to New Deal Europe, tourism in southeast Europe is expected to boom, with the region seeing an increased interest in investments in hotels as tourists become more aware of the region as a new tourism destination.
