IHG adds French hotel to InterContinental portfolio

IHG Hotels and Resorts is adding the Château Mont Royal, located just outside Paris, to its InterContinental portfolio.

The property, which was recently bought by a pair of family offices Groupe BMF and PFH, will join the likes of InterContinental Paris Le Grand and InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu – alongside three other InterContinental properties in Paris, Bordeaux and Marselle - as a flagship hotel for the brand. It will start to welcome guests – following renovation – in 2024.

Built in the early 20th century, InterContinental Chantilly - Château Mont Royal will feature two restaurants, a bar and a summer terrace, 11 meeting rooms, a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and treatment rooms alongside an indoor swimming pool and tennis court.

Groupe BMF  and PFH are planning to carry out a significant renovation of the hotel. HVS Hodges Ward Elliott brokered the sale on behalf of the sellers.

Why it matters

The luxury/lifestyle space continues to stay hot with plenty of competition from brands trying to snap up those historic, unbranded properties and plug them into their distribution ecosystems.
